Nearby isn't finding churches

Nearby needs your location — here's how to give it, and what to do instead.

Sorting by nearby needs to know where you are. Without that permission it has no starting point, so it can't sort by distance and falls back to another order.

Give it your location

You can turn it off again afterwards. We use it to sort what you're looking at, not to follow you around.

If you'd rather not share it

You don't have to. Search for a town or area by name instead, or browse the map and move it where you want — both work with no location permission at all.

It says the wrong place

Browsers on a desktop often locate you by network rather than GPS, which can be off by a considerable distance. Searching for the place by name is more reliable on a computer.

The map is blank

That's usually the connection rather than the permission. Reload, and see Something isn't working.
