Using it like an app
Add the site to your home screen or desktop — no store, no download.
The website can be installed so it opens in its own window with its own icon, with no browser address bar. It's the same site — nothing extra to download, and no app store involved.
This is the recommended setup on Android, Windows, and Mac, where there's no native app.
Android (Chrome)
Open the site, then use the browser menu and choose the option to install it or add it to your home screen.
Windows (Chrome or Edge)
Look for the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or use the browser menu and choose the install option.
iPhone and iPad
You can add it to your home screen from Safari's share menu — but on these devices, the app is the better experience.
Does it work offline?
Not meaningfully. Pages you've already opened may still appear, but searching and anything current needs a connection. Installing it makes it quicker to reach, not usable on a plane.
