My church isn't listed
You can add it yourself, and it only takes a few minutes.
If a church is missing from Church Rating, you can add it yourself. You don't need to ask us, and you don't need to be the pastor or work for the church. If you know the church and where it meets, that is enough.
Most people who write to us start with "is there a way it can be listed?" There is, and it's the same button anyone else uses.
Add a church
- Go to Add a church.
- Type the name. We'll check what's already listed first — a lot of churches are in there under a slightly different name, so it's worth a look before you add a new one.
- If it really isn't there, choose Add it as a new church.
- Drag the map so the pin sits on the building.
- Add the denomination and website if you know them. Both are optional.
You'll need a free account, because we keep track of who added what. If you're not signed in yet you can do it partway through — nothing you've typed is lost.
What if it's already there?
If we find a close match, we'll show it to you before you add anything. Open it and check. If it's the same church, you're done — it's already listed, and you can rate it or correct anything that looks wrong.
If it's a genuinely different church that happens to share a name — two "Grace Community Church" congregations in different towns, say — go ahead and add yours. That's normal and expected.
The church only has a Facebook page
That's fine, and very common for smaller congregations. Just leave the website box empty. The website field only accepts a church's own site, so a Facebook or directory page will be turned away — but it's optional, and leaving it blank costs you nothing. See Church websites and Facebook pages.
What happens next
New churches are reviewed by a person before they appear publicly, so there's a short wait. What happens after you add a church explains it.
